As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month for Breast Cancer Now, workplaces, schools and homes across the country were wearing it pink on Friday 21st October to raise money to combat breast cancer. LEA joined in the fun, with staff and crew getting their pink on in the name of charity!
Every year, Wear it Pink raises a significant amount of money for breast cancer charity, Breast Cancer Now. Since it began, Wear it Pink has raised over £28 million, with the money raised going towards funding world-class breast cancer research across the UK and Ireland.
This year, staff and crew decked themselves out in pink uniforms and clothing. Our flying crew wore pink epaulettes, courtesy of Fly Pink, and pink scarves.
Kristina Lankester, Cabin Service Manager, LEA, says: “Not only does Wear it Pink raise money and awareness for an extremely worthy cause, it is also so much fun! Seeing all your colleagues dressed in pink really brightens up the atmosphere, all the more so when you consider the reasons behind it. Breast cancer affects one in eight women, so a huge number of us will be affected by it in our lifetimes, making research and funding absolutely vital.”
