LEA Congratulates 'Aviation Polo Challenge' Winner Stobart Air
London, England, 9 September 2014 – London Executive Aviation (‘LEA’), the leading business jet charter operator, has taken on two other aviation companies in the latest and most successful ‘Aviation Polo Challenge’ to date.
Held on Saturday, 30 August 2014, at Hurtwood Park Polo Country Club in Surrey, the round-robin tournament featured three pro-am matches between LEA, airport and airline operator Stobart Air, and Stansted-based FBO and maintenance firm Inflite.
LEA managing director George Galanopoulos says: “All three matches were tightly fought, with outstanding play on show from every team. The players and spectators therefore felt the overall result to be a draw, certainly in spirit. However, Stobart Air had the advantage in terms of goal difference, making them worthy champions for the second year running.
“This was without doubt the most successful of the four Aviation Polo Challenges to date. The crowd was well in excess of 300 people and the polo playing reached a new level of intensity. Thanks to first-time sponsor Bombardier Business Aircraft our guests were treated to spectacular sporting action, delicious food and drink, and live entertainment.
“We congratulate Stobart Air on a well-deserved victory, but they can look forward to an even fiercer LEA challenge next year!”
The victorious Stobart Air team was again captained by Edd Stobart, while the Inflite team was captained by Aviation Polo Challenge veteran Philip Amadeus, who first joined battle in 2010 under RotorMotion colours.
The winner’s trophy was presented by Simon Burrows, Regional Vice President – Western Europe, Bombardier Business Aircraft, and legendary English rock drummer and Hurtwood Park owner Kenney Jones.
Saturday’s attractions also featured a charity auction in support of The Prince’s Trust. Guests later feasted on barbecue-style cuisine from a traditional Argentinean asado, tempting many visitors to linger late into the evening while enjoying live rock entertainment from the LOL Band.
